WCHOA Annual Spring Garage Sale – We are receiving requests on when our neighborhood spring garage sale is scheduled. The dates for the garage sale are Friday and Saturday, April 3rd & 4th. Information on how to participate will be posted on our WCHOA website in the near future and also distributed via email.


Brushy Waste Drop Off – The City of San Marcos hosts its monthly brush dropoff (weather permitting) on the second Saturday of each month from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at 750 River Road for San Marcos residential garbage and recycling service customers. The March drop off day is Saturday, March 14. People wishing to drop off brush and other “green waste” must provide a copy of a City utility bill and unload their own material at the site.

Material that will be accepted includes tree/ brush trimmings and wood debris suitable for tub grinding. Brush containing barbed wire or other metals will not be accepted.

The service is open only to residential solid waste customers in San Marcos. Brush from commercial operations will not be accepted. Residents are invited to load and take ground up mulch at the site.


Texas Disposal Systems Waste Wizard – Can’t remember what day to put out your waste disposal carts? If your trash pickup is provided by Texas Disposal Systems, you can sign up to be notified via a number of choices (email, text, phone call, embedded calendar, etc.) of dates for pickup of trash, recycling and bulky waste pickup. Click here to sign up for notifications and scroll down the page to the “waste wizzard” icon.


 

Household Hazardous Waste – Don’t toss your hazardous waste in the garbage – Dispose of it for free at the City! The City of San Marcos hosts collections for household hazardous waste for San Marcos and Hays County residents twice per week at the City Hall traffic yard (634 East Hopkins – Across from the big HEB) on Tuesday and Friday from noon until 3:30 p.m. This is only for residential waste – no commercial waste is accepted. Click here to see the types of items that will be accepted.


Bulk Waste Pickup – This service is available to Texaas Disposal Systems customers in the City of San Marcos. Pickup is limited to 3 cubic yards, 4 times per year per residence. Bulk pickups are serviced the first full week and third week of the month.To schedule a pickup requests must be received by 4pm two business days before your trash service day with the Resource Recovery office (512-393-8407) or with Texas Disposal System (800-375-8375). 


What the Census Means to All of Us – Every 10 years, an accurate count of our state and county’s population helps ensure we get our fair share of the 675 Billion in tax dollars that the federal government will send out annually for the next 10 years.
